To get started, let’s first cover the orthodontic services we offer at Davis Orthodontics. Afterwards, take the fun braces or Invisalign® quiz to see which treatment will result in your best experience and results for great teeth!
Types of Braces at Davis Orthodontics:
You’ll be happy to know that today’s modern braces are smaller and more streamlined — but still have a proven track record of beautiful smiles that last. We have four types of braces at Davis Orthodontics:
- Traditional metal braces
- Clarity™ ADVANCED clear ceramic braces
- Incognito™ lingual braces
- Self-ligating braces
Traditional Metal Braces: Choose Your Braces Colors
Metal braces are the ones people are most familiar with and they’re still a top pick for both kids and adults because they’re so effective. Metal braces today are more inobstrusive and comfortable than years past. They’re also a great choice for patients who want to express their personality through their braces or want variety with colorful, interchangeable elastics. Change up your braces colors to suit the season or occasion: Use red and green for the Christmas holidays! Perhaps orange for Halloween? Or green and white around St. Patrick’s Day.
Clarity™ ADVANCED Clear Ceramic Braces That Blend In
Now if you’re looking for subtle braces instead of flair with your braces colors, then clear braces — also called invisible braces — might be more appealing. The brackets on Clarity™ ADVANCED clear braces are made of translucent porcelain and they’re smaller with rounded edges, making them discreet and more comfortable. Clarity™ ADVANCED clear braces are customized to fit your teeth so you know you’re getting efficient treatment for your specific alignment goals.
A few other perks of Clarity™ ADVANCED invisible braces? The brackets don’t stain, and because they’re so sleek, keeping teeth healthy is an easy task.
Incognito™ Lingual Braces: Look Like You’re Not Wearing Braces
Braces even more discreet than ceramic braces? Lingual braces! The Incognito™ lingual braces we offer at Davis Orthodontics are attached to the backs of your teeth — from the front, you don’t even look like you’re wearing braces. Lingual braces are often popular with our adult patients who don’t want the look of braces but definitely want the benefits. Plus, as the Premier Provider of Incognito™ braces in the Upstate of SC, you’re in expert hands with Dr. Buddy.
Self-ligating Braces: The Minimalist Look
Self-ligating braces have brackets and wires just like you’d expect from braces. However, they don’t require metal ties or elastics that hold archwires to brackets… no need to choose braces colors if that’s not a perk for you. Instead, the brackets on self-ligating braces have little doors that hold wires in place; memory wires that are pre-programmed to move your teeth from start to finish without adjustments. These types of braces offer less friction and more comfort.
Invisalign® at Davis Orthodontics:
Now for something completely different! Chances are you’ve heard about the alternative to braces: Invisalign® and Invisalign® Teen. Instead of brackets and wires, Invisalign® is a series of clear, plastic trays that fit over your teeth. Dr. Buddy, Dr. Adam, or Dr. Sarah will take a 3D digital model of your teeth to plan exactly when each tooth will move. You swap out trays every few weeks as prescribed so that each set can move your teeth step-by-step towards your final smile.
The biggest difference between Invisalign® vs. invisible braces or metal braces? You take out your Invisalign® when you eat, drink anything other than water, and when you clean your teeth.
Find What’s Right For You: Take Our Braces or Invisalign Quiz
Now that you’ve got the basics, let’s take that quiz to find your perfect smile solution. Typically, considerations like your specific smile issues, your lifestyle, and budget are what make braces vs. Invisalign a unique choice from person to person. This braces or Invisalign quiz will reveal which one will help you get the great teeth you’ve always wanted. Circle A or B for each question below.
